Astrology Software for Astrologers and Serious Students
Astrologer is astrology software for two kinds of people: those learning to read charts properly, and working astrologers who read for clients. It calculates birth charts, synastry, transits, progressions, returns and astrocartography with the Swiss Ephemeris, explains every placement in plain English, and adds the client records, booking, payments and AI readings a practice runs on. It runs in any browser, as a desktop app on Mac and Windows, and from the home screen of a phone.

Astrologer is built around two paths, and most people start on one and move to the other.
Learning astrology for yourself
If you are studying your own chart or learning to read for friends, Astrologer gives you the chart and the teacher in one place. Every placement opens a written interpretation beside the wheel, the Academy teaches on real charts from the first lesson, and the practice gym lets you read a documented chart blind and get graded on what you caught and what you missed before you learn whose chart it was.
Working astrologers with clients
If you already read for paying clients, Astrologer replaces the stack of separate tools most practices run on. Client records keep each person’s charts, notes and past sessions together. Clients book and pay through your own booking page, sessions can be recorded with the chart moving in time with the reading, and Report Studio turns a reading into a branded PDF under your practice name.
What the astrology software calculates
Every calculation runs on the Swiss Ephemeris, the same engine the established professional programs are checked against. These are the techniques most readings rest on, and what each one gives you.
Aspects and orbs
Every major and minor aspect, with the orb shown in degrees and minutes and a full aspect grid beside the wheel. Orbs are set by body by default, the way the tradition sets them, and you can tune them per planet and per aspect. Click a planet and the rest of the chart steps back so you can follow one storyline at a time.
Twelve house systems
Placidus, Whole Sign, Equal, Koch, Porphyry, Regiomontanus, Campanus, Topocentric, Alcabitius, Meridian, Morinus and Vehlow, in tropical or sidereal zodiacs. House systems are set per chart, so you can read the same birth in Whole Sign and Placidus side by side.
Transits and progressions
Turn on the transit ring and scrub the sky forward or back to any date. A transit timeline lists the contacts coming up with their exact dates, and you can ask in plain English, for example when transiting Jupiter next trines the natal Sun, and get the date and minute back. Secondary progressions and solar arc directions run from the same birth.
Solar and lunar returns
Cast the solar return for any year and the lunar return for any month, and lay it over the natal chart to read the year or the month ahead. A solar return can be cast for the birthplace or for wherever the person will be on their birthday.
Profections
Annual and monthly profections name the year’s activated house and its time lord, and activations mark the ages at which each planet comes due, so you can answer the question clients ask most: what is this year about.
Astrocartography
A live world map of where each planet was rising, setting and culminating at birth, with parans and local space lines. Hover any place and the relocated chart redraws beside the map, so you can read a move or a trip with the chart and the lines together.
Astrology software plans and the free trial
There are three plans. Essentials is $14 a month and carries the full chart studio, AI readings, client records, astrocartography and Report Studio. Practitioner is $27 a month and adds live video sessions, email campaigns, the Transit Scanner across your whole roster, and financial astrology. Professional is $65 a month for practices with existing clients and carries the most AI credits and recording hours, plus a weekly roster digest and transit alerts. Every paid plan starts with a 14-day free trial. A card is required to begin it and you can cancel at any time before it ends without being charged. Annual billing gives two months free.
Works on every device
One account keeps your charts, clients and readings in sync everywhere you open it. There is nothing to install to get started: the full workspace runs in any modern browser.

Frequently asked questions
What is the best astrology software for professional astrologers?
It depends on how you work. If you read for clients and want charts, client records, booking, payments and reports in one place, Astrologer is built for that. Solar Fire remains the deepest Windows-only desktop program, and Astro Gold is the polished choice on Mac and iOS. The comparison guide covers each one fairly.
Is there a free trial?
Yes. Every paid plan starts with a 14-day free trial. A card is required to begin it, and you can cancel any time before it ends without being charged. Casting a single birth chart and the free calculators need no account at all.
How accurate is the astrology software?
Planet positions come from the Swiss Ephemeris, accurate to well under an arcsecond across thousands of years. Birth times are converted against the historical timezone database, so wartime daylight saving and half-hour zones resolve to the offset in force on that date.
Does Astrologer run on Windows and Mac?
Yes. There are native desktop apps for Windows and macOS, and the same workspace runs in any modern browser. On iPhone, iPad and Android it can be added to the home screen as an app.
Can I import charts from other astrology software?
Yes. Astrologer reads AAF files, pasted chart data from Astro.com and Astro-Seek, and offers guided import for Solar Fire and Astro Gold files.
Is it suitable for beginners?
Yes. Every placement carries a plain-English interpretation, the Academy teaches on real charts from the first lesson, and the Essentials plan is priced for people still learning.
