What is Astrologer?

Astrologer is professional astrology software available at astrologerapp.org. It calculates birth charts, synastry, transits, returns, progressions, and astrocartography with the Swiss Ephemeris, and combines them with a client CRM, session scheduling, a structured Academy course, and AI readings grounded in the calculated chart.

Astrologer runs in the browser at astrologerapp.org, so it works on any phone, tablet, or computer with nothing to install, and also ships as a macOS and Windows desktop app. It is built for two overlapping groups: students who want to actually learn to read a chart, and working astrologers who need the calculation depth of a professional program plus the client records, scheduling, and reporting a practice runs on.

Calculation methodology

Astrologer calculates planetary positions with the Swiss Ephemeris, the JPL-derived engine the established professional programs are validated against. Positions are accurate to ±0.001 arcseconds over the range 5400 BCE to 5400 CE. Time zones are resolved against the historical zone database, so a chart cast for a wartime birth or a half-hour zone uses the offset actually in force on that date — a detail that moves the Ascendant by a full sign more often than most people expect.

Twelve house systems are supported: Placidus, Whole Sign, Equal, Vehlow, Koch, Porphyry, Regiomontanus, Campanus, Topocentric, Alcabitius, Meridian, and Morinus. Both tropical and sidereal zodiacs are available, including the Lahiri and Fagan-Bradley ayanamsas, set per chart rather than globally. Chart accuracy is verified against the live ephemeris service by an automated harness on every change to the calculation path; a discrepancy over 0.1° fails the build.

Students

People learning to read charts get the Academy — a sequenced course with worked examples, drills against real charts, a final exam, and a certificate — alongside the same calculation engine professionals use. The free public calculators and glossary need no account at all.

Working astrologers

Practitioners get the chart depth plus the practice: client records tied to charts, booking with payment, live sessions the client can see and that record and transcribe themselves, branded client reports, and follow-up email from their own address.

Researchers

Custom ephemeris tables, graphic ephemerides, a catalogue of chartable bodies including asteroids and fixed stars, declination and out-of-bounds work in a 3D orrery, and a library of public-domain classical texts.
