Ephemeris Generator

Generate a planetary position table for any date range, step, and set of bodies, or plot the same data as a graphic ephemeris to see aspect patterns form across years. Calculations come from the Swiss Ephemeris, and the output can be exported.

Generate an ephemeris

What an ephemeris is

A table of where the planets were, or will be, on given dates. Before software, astrologers worked from printed annual ephemerides and interpolated between daily positions by hand. The table is still the primary reference for checking any claim about planetary position, which is why being able to generate one on demand matters more than it might sound.

Custom tables

Choose the date range, the step — daily, weekly, monthly — and which bodies to include, from the traditional seven through to asteroids, centaurs, and hypotheticals. Output exports for use outside the app, so it can feed a spreadsheet or a research script.

Graphic ephemeris

The same data plotted as lines across time, where aspects appear as crossings. Configurations that are nearly invisible in a table read instantly as shapes: a slow triple conjunction assembling over three years, or a square that tightens with each pass. This is the standard tool for questions about long periods.

Ingresses, retrogrades, and stations

Find the exact date and time a planet changes sign, turns retrograde, stations direct, or crosses a specific degree. Station dates matter disproportionately in practice, because a planet at a station sits on the same degree for days and its effect concentrates.

What costs money and what does not

Generating a table and reading it here costs nothing. A subscription covers the rest of the workspace: saving charts and the ephemeris settings you use repeatedly, running transits against a saved natal chart, astrocartography, the Academy course, client records, and AI readings. The calculation itself is identical either way — the Swiss Ephemeris does not have a paid tier.

Frequently asked questions

What is an ephemeris in astrology?

An ephemeris is a table of planetary positions for given dates. It is the primary reference for checking where any planet was or will be at a particular moment.

Can I generate an ephemeris for any date range?

Yes. Astrologer generates custom ephemeris tables for any range and step across the Swiss Ephemeris span of roughly 5400 BCE to 5400 CE, including asteroids and hypothetical bodies, with export.

What is a graphic ephemeris?

A graphic ephemeris plots planetary positions as lines over time, so aspects between bodies appear as line crossings. It makes long-term patterns visible in a way a numeric table does not.

How do I find when a planet goes retrograde?

The ephemeris tools give exact dates and times for retrograde stations, direct stations, and sign ingresses for any body.
